A search for information literacy Kuhlthau lead me to a blog entitled The Era of Information Literacy—How Web 2.0 tools promote Information Fluency on a blog entitled “How Should Information Literacy Be Taught With The Emerging Technological Changes In Higher Education”. Feria, the blogger, determined that information literacy cannot be separated from the computer technology which supports it. In fact, only by using a variety of communication tools like wikis and myspace, can a student come to understand the world of information literacy. However, the student must apply information processing tools, like those developed in the Big6 approach or by Carol Kuhlthau in order to use the information gathered effectively and within legal Fair Use and copyright law requirements. The goal of information literacy is to become a lifelong learner as an information literate processor of information. This is a properly cited article with sources of value to others, like me. This is a blog to return to as I complete this course and feel more informed as one who would like to respond to this blog at

Why this blog?
This blog has been established as a course requirement as I work on my MLS degree. My interest in Carol Kuhlthau and the Information Search Process began last semester, and I hope in increase my understanding of the process and to discover opportunities to apply it in the private (7-12) high school where I work as the librarian-in-training.
